B R Ambedkar Biography
Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar(1891-1956) was a man of unusual great intelligence.He
was popularly known as Babasaheb Ambedkar.He was highest educated.He was an
Indian eminent lawyer,economist,philosopher,politician and historian.He earned
doctorates from the study of Law, economics and political
science.
Ambedkar was first Law minister of Independent India in 1947.He was made
chairman of constitution draft committee.He embraced Buddhism. He advocated
Buddhism which inspired many to adopt it.India's highest civilian award
"Bharata Ratna'' was awarded to Ambedkar posthumously in the year
1990.
Ambedkar was born in a poor family of downtrodden community.His caste people
were treated as untouchables by evil custom in the society. Ambedkar being by
lowest caste, owing to untouchability, he was insulted,abused and terrorised by
the upper caste people in every walk of his life. Ambedkar bravely faced all the
insults in the society.He was self styled and with his hard work he scaled
great heights and gave solutions for the problems in the nation.
